Credit Solutions of America, Inc., a Dallas, Texas-based credit services business, has been permanently enjoined from engaging in business dealings with the consumer public and from doing business in the State of New York. The Attorney General of the State of New York sued them, claiming they were engaging in fraudulent, deceptive, and illegal practices in the conduct of its debt settlement business; that they engaged in false advertising; that they violated the state’s credit services law; and that they engaged in business in New York State without the authority to do so. The amount of restitution, damages, and civil penalties they will have to pay will be determined shortly. You can read the decision here:
